Position Overview: Assist in carrying out essential field duties at the jobsite within the area of responsibility. Organize and direct construction activities within an assigned area of responsibility to ensure job-site operations are in compliance with the contract documents, schedule, quality standards, safety standards, and budget.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare reports and forecasts, as required, and keep supervisors informed on progress of assigned activities.
• Implement procedures to ensure construction operations are continuously adhering to the contract documents, schedule, quality standards, and budget.
• Prepare daily construction reports and incident reports.
• Must communicate effectively to all project participants.
• Strong understanding of all phases of construction operations including engineering disciplines, means and methods, and field management.
• Analyze and develop details per the contract documents. Where required, produce new methods to implement the work such as: work performed out of sequence and/or simultaneously.
• Verify completion of work orders in the field.
• Ensure safety standards and requirements are implemented and adhered to and that tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
• Strong knowledge of safety compliance including federal, state, and local safety codes.
• Recognize when problems exist and evaluate the facts to resolve issues efficiently. Seek assistance from supervisor when necessary.
• Maintain positive attitude towards field work and demonstrate sound judgment in making field decisions.
• Determine the priority of assignments based on critical deadlines that must be met.
• Receive operational direction from the Project Manager.
• Assist the Project Manager with reviewing construction schedules to ensure that the material release schedule is up to date.
• Review submittals and confirm job compliance with design and field conditions.
• Review field conditions and prepare DWG’s and or sketches of customized materials and preparing solid works files for fabrication at our factories.
• Assist with or prepare daily updates to the project database.
• Direct subcontractor activities within the area of responsibility.
• Implement and enforce procedures and related work rules as established by the Superintendent and Project Manager.
Qualifications:
- Proficient Word and Excel experience required.
- AutoCAD/Solidworks experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management preferred; or equivalent work experience with high school or vocational degree.
- 5-7 years of experience/industry experience required.
- Strong organization skills and cross functional communication skills required.
- Proven ability and desire to communicate effectively and have strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and initiative to take on expanding growth opportunities, thrives on challenges, and performs well under pressure.
- Proven ability to work independently.
